Farmland Values Still Hot

 In Land

Values in the Plains states were up more than 20% from 2010 with Nebraska up 30%.   The rate of appreciation has slowed somewhat in the second quarter, plus we’re seeing some divergence in land values with the southern Plains starting to soften a bit and the northern Plains still strong.  Much of this is reflecting farm income with the south long suffering from drought conditions.
