Ohio State University South Campus Gateway Expansion.
Ohio State University plans to start the rezoning process for the Campus Partners for Community Urban Redevelopment properties on 7 acres immediately south of the existing South Campus Gateway. This will be mixed use including ground floor retail with office space and residential above.
The rezoning process will begin next month and is expected to be completed by year’s end. Unlike the existing South Campus Gateway, OSU will not take a leading role in the develop. It will be private outside developers.
This is great news for the OSU campus area as it will bring more Columbus commercial real estate to the market for triple net retail plus badly needed housing and office space for lease.
This will start filling in the parcels all the way down to the Kroger’s. Once the Short North gets a little less ‘short’, we’ll be closing on new Columbus development or redevelopment all the way from the Columbus downtown to the OSU campus.
There won’t much in the way of details for a few months yet, but if you’re interested in net lease retail or office, contact your Columbus commercial realtor or me, Scott Harris at 614-905- 6614
