Columbus / Central Ohio Home Sales – September 2011

 In Columbus, Ohio, Residential

Homes sales in Central Ohio were 1,719 for the month and that’s up almost 17% over the 1,474 for September last year.  Homes going into contract increased 58% last month over a year ago.  Total sales YTD still lags 2010 by 3.7% when the Home Buyer Tax Credit was in effect.  Year over year increases over the last three-month fuel hopes that the market will end up with a gain for the year.

Median sales price was also up slightly over last year to $128,000 versus $127,500 for September 2010. Unsold inventory also fell 17.2%.  New listings are down 12.6%

Just as with the unemployment numbers for Central Ohio that I posted yesterday, the Columbus metro is recovering nicely.
