Columbus suburb of Whitehall is getting a $300,000,000 development at East Broad and Hamilton Road

The Columbus suburb of Whitehall is getting the first of a major $300,000,000 redevelopment of 50 acres to help with revitalization of the corner of E. Broad and North Hamilton Road.  It’s replacing the long-condemned Woodcliff Condominiums.

In 2019 Whitehall acquired the 50-acre site as the result of a decade long nuisance case versus Woodcliff Condominiums. Whitehall was then awarded a $4.18 million grant from the Ohio Department of Development to help with site demolition and cleanup.

The new development plan includes 1,000 residential units, for rent and for sale, plus retail, and restaurant and office space. The plan will be integrated will be integrated into the 80 acre Whitehall Community Park.

“The City of Whitehall and Mayor Kim Maggard have worked tirelessly over many years to make this dream a reality on the corner of Broad and Hamilton,” said Zach Woodruff, Whitehall City Administrator. “Bringing affordable homes, new jobs, new businesses and new visitors to Whitehall has been our priority. This demolition kickoff is just the beginning of a major revitalization of this intersection in our city – from new roads and sidewalks to new park connections and greenspace.”
