Retail Rents Projected to Rise in Select Cities in 2013
Retail Traffic Magazine projects that Boston, Houston and Los Angeles will experience rent increases for class A retail space during 2013.
In the United States, it’s projected that Boston, which has average class-A rents of $85 per sq. ft. to increase to $95 per sq. ft. in the second quarter of 2013. Dallas class A retail space which rents for $125 per sq. ft. on average to increase to $145 per sq. ft. Houston, from rents of $135 per sq. ft. to increase $150 per sq. ft. Los Angeles, class-A space rents for between $100 to increase to $120 per sq. ft.
Rents in Washington D.C., New York, Chicago and Las Vegas are expected to remain relatively flat in 2013.
Major Canadian cities such as Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver will also experience rent growth next year.
